What The Brain Tells Us

Swayed by the slightest swell,
alert to saline alterations,
floating in the ocean
on the tide.

This present solicitation
of the senses
is but a sign

that seawater is minutely full
of distant motives

and to be safe
is to be unstable,
is to cavort

in oscillating equilibrium,
tenacious as a seahorse on a weed,
poker-faced,
fallibly elaborate.
